About This Site

For most of us, music became a part of our life at a very young age. Even if you don’t remember having music in your house growing up, it was there. It was in the ring of the phone, the catchy television jingle you still remember 25 years later, the song of the birds out your window…

This site is about the music in our life and how to tap into it, develop it, express it, and share it. Music starting at home doesn’t necessarily mean starting at childhood. It means making it a part of your life whatever your age. Whether you’re learning for the first time in a long time or ever…whether you’re advanced or beginner…making music an important part of your life is going to give you much more in return.

Stick around. More musical musings, encouragment, and tools to come.

About Deborah

Deborah Lee grew up in the small town of Linden, AL where her musical training was through church choirs and marching band. After high school, she moved to Mississippi to study music at Clarke College and Delta State University.

As a private music teacher she has special understanding of the difficulties of teaching children with special needs including Asperger’s Syndrome, ADD, and learning disabilities. As a homeschooling mom she understands that when music foundations begin at home they can impact the whole community. This belief is the basis of her website www.ourmusicalhome.com

In 1994 Deborah moved to St. Louis, MO where she received a Master of Divinity from Covenant Seminary. She still resides in St. Louis with her husband, Gary, a freelance cellist and their son, Adam, a free-spirited child.
